DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — As the two teams right above them in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings face off Sunday afternoon, Duke is hoping to take advantage.
The No. 10 Blue Devils (18-5 overall, 9-2 ACC) host the Miami Hurricanes (13-9, 3-8) Sunday afternoon at Cameron Indoor Stadium. Tipoff is scheduled for 2 p.m.
Duke sits behind Notre Dame, NC State and Florida State in the league standings before Sunday’s slate of games begins. But with the Wolfpack and Seminoles clashing in Tallahassee Sunday afternoon, the Blue Devils could move up at least a spot depending on who wins — and on if they can top Miami.
The Blue Devils lost to NC State 89-83 on Monday, but bounced back to rout Clemson 74-55 Thursday night. Freshman Toby Fournier continued her banner rookie season with a 20-point performance to lead Duke in the win.
Miami is coming off a 77-68 loss to then-No. 20 Georgia Tech last Sunday. In that game, the Hurricanes’ Haley Cavinder scored 25 points to lead all players.
Next up for the Blue Devils is a trip to Winston-Salem, where Duke and Wake Forest will play on Thursday night.
