Duke men’s basketball star Kyle Filipowski suffered a lower-body injury after he collided with Wake Forest fans who stormed the court.
Wake had just beaten Duke to get its biggest win of the season when a few fans ran into Filipowski, who then needed to be helped to the bench by Duke’s medical staff.
After the game, Duke head coach Jon Scheyer confirmed that Filipowski suffered a knee injury.
Jon Scheyer just texted to confirm/correct his postgame comments: Kyle Filipowski suffered a knee injury, not an ankle, during the court-storm.

Had Wake fans not stormed the court, Filipowski would have been fully healthy heading into Duke’s next game against Louisville on Wednesday. Instead, the program will have to see if he can even play in that game or next Saturday’s massive game against Virginia.
Court storming used to be a lot of fun but they’ve become more and more dangerous over the years since players have been getting hurt.
It’ll be fascinating to see if this latest injury is the one that gets the NCAA to finally ban court storming once and for all.
Duke dropped to 21-6 overall with the loss while Wake Forest improved to 18-9.
