Duke suffered a really tough loss at the hands of North Carolina last Saturday.
It was a battle of the two best teams in the ACC and North Carolina came out on top at home, 93-84. With the win, UNC got to 18-4 overall while Duke fell to 16-5.
After the loss, Duke head coach Jon Scheyer confirmed that the team had a “heartfelt” meeting since the team took the loss pretty hard.
“Sunday is an off day. For me, it was important to bring them in as early as we could on Monday. I didn’t want to wait until practice at two,” Scheyer said, via On3. “We brought them in early. Had a very honest, heartfelt meeting – I guess you could call it that. They had a great response.”
They seemed to also respond pretty well in their next game after the Blue Devils beat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish on Wednesday night, 71-53. Mark Mitchell and Caleb Foster led the way with 13 points each while Jared McCain had 11 points.
Their next game will be against Boston College at 2 p.m. ET on Saturday.
