NORMAN, Okla. (WNCN) — Despite winning the Atlantic Coast Conference baseball tournament, Duke baseball was unable to rise up to be one of the nation’s top 16 teams, meaning they missed out on hosting games in this weekend’s regional round.
So the Blue Devils (39-18) are on the road, getting placed in the Norman regional hosted by No. 9 overall seed Oklahoma (37-19). Duke, the No. 2 in the bracket, and the top-seeded Sooners are joined in the regional by No. 3 UConn (32-23) and No. 4 Oral Roberts (27-30-1).
The NCAA baseball regional round is double-elimination, which means each team will play at least two games and won’t be knocked out until they lose twice. The winner of each regional will move on to play in the super regionals next weekend.
The Blue Devils and the Huskies kick off play in Norman with Game 1 Friday afternoon. Here’s the full schedule for the regional as well as TV information if available.
