DURHAM, N.C. (WNCN) — The Duke men’s basketball team finished second in the Atlantic Coast Conference standings last season to archrival UNC, but with No. 1 recruit Cooper Flagg and one of the top freshmen classes in the country, they’re hoping to improve on that this year.
On Tuesday night, the newly-expanded ACC released the full slate of conference schedules for all the men’s and women’s basketball teams.
Duke opens conference play at Louisville on Dec. 8 with two more ACC games — at Georgia Tech on Dec. 21 and in Durham against Virginia Tech on Dec. 31 — before the calendar year is over. They start 2025 with a trip to one of the conference’s newest schools, SMU, and will also travel to Boston College, Wake Forest, Syracuse, Clemson, Virginia, and Miami.
After being knocked out by Triangle rival NC State in the Elite Eight last season, the Blue Devils will only face the Wolfpack once in a Jan. 27 contest at Cameron Indoor Stadium. As always, Duke and North Carolina will square off twice in the fiercest rivalry in college basketball: on Feb. 1 in Durham, and on March 8 in Chapel Hill to end the season.
The Blue Devils previously announced their full non-conference schedule of 13 games, which includes neutral site matchups against Kentucky on Nov. 12 (in Atlanta for the State Farm Champions Classic), Kansas on Nov. 26 (in Las Vegas for the Vegas Showdown) and Illinois on Feb. 22 (at Madison Square Garden for the SentinalOne Classic). In this year’s SEC/ACC Challenge, Duke hosts Auburn on Dec. 4.
Prior to the season, the Blue Devils have a charity exhibition game against Arizona State on Oct. 27 in former Duke star and current Sun Devils head coach Bobby Hurley’s return to Cameron Indoor Station. The contest, dubbed the Brotherhood Run, will benefit Duke Children’s Hospital.
Here’s the Blue Devils’ full schedule, with home games in bold.
