Former Duke forward Mark Mitchell is taking his talents to the SEC for the 2024-25 season.
Moments ago, Mitchell announced that he’s committed to Missouri. He posted a photo of him wearing a Tigers uniform on Instagram.
“MIZ,” Mitchell wrote for his Instagram caption.
That’s a huge get for Missouri, as Mitchell averaged 11.6 points and 6.0 rebounds per game this past season for Duke.
Mitchell, a Kansas City native, should have a prominent role at Missouri. Not only will he slide into the starting lineup for Dennis Gates, he may have to be one of the team’s top scoring threats.
Even though Mitchell is leaving Duke behind, the former five-star recruit has nothing but love for the Blue Devils.
“I would like to express my sincere gratitude to Duke University and all those who have supported me over the past few years,” Mitchell wrote. “I am deeply appreciative of the impact this community has had on my life and it will forever remain dear to my heart.”
Countless Duke fans sent words of encouragement to Mitchell this Friday. They want to see him shine at Missouri.
With that said, Duke will need to replace Mitchell’s production in the starting lineup.
