After pulling in a stellar 2024 recruiting class led by projected No. 1 pick Cooper Flagg, Coach Jon Scheyer and Duke are right back on the trail. The Blue Devils host their annual ‘Countdown to Craziness’ this Friday, and top 2025 prospects Nate Ament, Acaden Lewis and Shelton Henderson will be in attendance.
**Ament has been one of the nation’s fastest-rising players. The 6-foot-8 versatile wing is now a consensus top-five recruit. Ament originally had two official visits scheduled to Virginia and Kentucky, but those were pushed back and Ament will take his time with his recruitment. He has now set visits to Texas, Tennessee and Kansas State, along with Duke, per On3.
It’s likely this decision stretches out a while until the spring, especially with a Kansas State visit scheduled for early February.
**The 6-3 Lewis has risen to the challenge at every summer ball stop, and has asserted himself as one of the nation’s premier combo guards. The Sidwell Friends (D.C.) guard earned offers from four Blue Blood schools in the last four months, and he’s down to three who could land the coveted guard: Kentucky, Duke and UConn
Duke is seen as the wildcard here with Lewis having a “great” visit to Durham in May. Lewis was “really impressed” with UConn as well. The date for the trips to Kentucky is still up in the air, but he will be on campus at some point.
**The 6-6- Henderson was one of the fastest risers in the rankings this summer as well, and is now a consensus top-20 prospect in the 2025 class. He’s set official visits to Duke, Louisville, LSU, Texas and Texas Tech, but hasn’t informed us of a potential commitment timeline. Henderson did not visit Houston the weekend of Sept. 21 as originally scheduled, which is pretty telling. Louisville, which doesn’t have a 2025 commit, is perceived to be in a good spot.
