A week ago Duke fans needed to be walked off the ledge after all-world forward Cooper Flagg suffered a scary-looking ankle injury. But the latest news is bound to get Blue Devils fans riled up ahead of their NCAA Tournament game tomorrow.
On Thursday, Duke announced that Flagg has mended and will be available to play in their tournament opener against Mount St. Mary’s.
“Coop update –> active tomorrow vs. Mount St. Mary’s,” the team posted on X today.

As you might expect, the update on Flagg has every Duke fan over the moon and thrilled for the tournament now:
“Let’s. F-ing. Go,” one user declared.
“Win it all fellas!”
“Ball up top.”
“Let’s gooooo.”
“It’s about to get wild.”
However, some fans believe that the team should be careful with Flagg and his injuries, and should limit his minutes for the first few rounds if they can:
“Hopefully only 10-20 minutes to get him back up to speed. Need him healthy for a run!”
“don’t rush him back just to get hurt pls.”
“He shouldn’t play. Maybe play him Sunday if he’s needed.”
Flagg is a freshman and ranks among the best players in the nation. In 32 games he’s averaged 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game while shooting 48.8-percent on field goals and 36.8-percent from three.
Duke lost Flagg to an injury midway through the ACC Tournament but still managed to knock off North Carolina and Louisville to win the conference title without him.
The Blue Devils managed to secure a No. 1 seed in the NCAA Tournament even without Flagg’s services. Now that they have him back, they should rank among the betting favorites to win the whole thing.
