Basketball fans had this Friday circled on their calendar, and for good reason. That’s because the Boozer twins, Cameron and Cayden, have finally announced where they’ll be playing college hoops.
Cameron and Cayden are the sons of former NBA All-Star Carlos Boozer. The former Duke standout was an NCAA champion and All-ACC forward before going pro. After two productive seasons with the Cleveland Cavaliers, he joined the Utah Jazz and never looked back. From 2004-2010, he was a high-level player who formed a great duo with Deron Williams.
Boozer’s kids have a long way to go before they become NBA stars, but they’re certainly on the right track. In fact, they’re following in his footsteps.
On Friday morning, it was announced that Cameron and Cayden have committed to Duke. It’s somewhat of a no-brainer given their father’s history.
“Five-star brothers Cameron Boozer and Cayden Boozer announced their commitments to Duke. Cameron Boozer, No. 2 in the ESPN 100, is one of the most decorated and productive prospects in modern history; three state titles and two gold medals and MVPs with USA Basketball,” Jeff Borzello wrote on X.

Florida and Miami were also in the mix for the Boozer twins, but Duke ultimately won the sweepstakes. Head coach Jon Scheyer has to feel good about adding this kind of talent to his 2025 recruiting class.
Cameron, the No. 2 overall recruit, is a power forward like his father. While he’s more than willing to score in the paint, he’s also capable of stretching the floor.
As for Cayden, he’s a savvy point guard who sees the floor extremely well. During this year’s EYBL, he averaged 6.6 assists per contest.
Will the Boozer twins live up to the hype? We’ll find out during the 2025-26 season.
For now, Duke fans can celebrate Friday’s news and dust off their Boozer jerseys.
