A Clemson Tigers outfielder just made an insane, Willie Mays-style catch to save his program’s season – for now, anyway.
Clemson center fielder Cam Cannarella made a ridiculous over-the-shoulder catch in the bottom of the 10th inning on Sunday evening. The game was tied, 9-9, and there were two runners on for Florida. If the ball had dropped, the Gators would have scored and won the Super Regional series, advancing to Omaha.
But Cannarella had other plans, making a ridiculous season-saving catch.

“Insane catch — let alone in extra innings to save the game,” one fan added.
“This is one of the most ridiculous game saving plays ever,” one fan added.
“This is one of the craziest and most clutch catches I’ve ever seen. Off the bat I thought game/season over,” another fan wrote.
“Considering the moment, this might be top 3 best catches I’ve ever seen. Wow!” another fan added.
Well done, Tigers.
Clemson and Florida are still knotted up, 9-9, in the top of the 11th inning on Sunday. Game 2 of the Super Regionals series is airing on ESPN.
