There’s a chance that Clemson may not be in the ACC soon.
According to the Post and Courier, the move could happen “sooner than later” and told fans to “stay tuned.” The report also says that Florida State, North Carolina, and maybe another school could also leave the ACC.
It’s no surprise that Clemson is potentially looking to leave the conference. It was one of the few schools that voted “no” for ACC expansion and likely wants to go up against better schools in the Big Ten or SEC.
Realignment is a tricky situation in college football. Even though both the Big Ten and SEC are stacked right now for years to come, they wouldn’t be able to say no if an offer made sense for Clemson to join.
However, until that happens, Clemson will continue to play in the ACC. Its next game will be against 4-0 Syracuse this Saturday at Noon ET.
