Clemson had a chance to pull off a big upset over No. 4 Florida State on Saturday but fell just short.
Late in the fourth quarter, Clemson lined up for a 29-yard field goal but Jonathan Weitz yoinked it wide left.
Greg McElroy then commented that this could’ve been a Hollywood ending had Weitz made the kick until Sean McDonough had a hilarious response.
“Well, the writers are on strike,” he said.

The writer’s strike is the reason why movies and shows aren’t filming right now. It was a perfect line from McDonough in that situation.
The game then went to overtime, which saw Clemson lose. It was the program’s first loss to Florida State since 2014, which saw came in OT.
Clemson is now 2-2 overall and has lost five of its last eight games against Power 5 teams.
Meanwhile, FSU is 4-0 and is the favorite to win the ACC this year.
