It’s safe to say Dabo Swinney isn’t thrilled with Clemson defensive coordinator Wes Goodwin.
During ABC’s halftime interview with Swinney, he made it abundantly clear that he was furious with Goodwin’s coaching in the final two minutes of the first half.
“We probably need to get out of the 3-man rush in two-minute drill. I’m really disappointed in that,” Swinney told ESPN’s Molly McGrath. “He’s too good to let him hold the ball. That’s probably the worst thing we’ve done all half – really disappointed.”
Clemson’s defense allowed Florida State to put together a five-play, 75-yard touchdown drive to cut the deficit to 17-14. Seminoles quarterback Jordan Travis didn’t face much pressure on that possession.

If Clemson is going to knock off the No. 4 team in the country, it’ll need to find a way to make Travis uncomfortable.
For what it’s worth, Travis is currently battling an injury to his non-throwing shoulder. That didn’t stop him from having 136 passing yards and two total touchdowns in the first half though.
The second half between Clemson and Florida State will resume on ABC. We’d have to imagine the Tigers will be more aggressive on defense once they come out of the locker room.
