It’s been a disappointing couple of seasons for Dabo Swinney and the Clemson Tigers football program.
Swinney, who has won two national championships at Clemson, hasn’t made the College Football Playoff since the 2020 season. The Tigers went 9-4 last season.
While hopes are higher heading into the 2024 season, Swinney has made what many are calling a cowardly decision. He will no longer take live calls from fans on his radio show.
“It’s official: Clemson FB coach Dabo Swinney will no longer take live calls from fans on his weekly radio show The new format is called “Tiger Sports Hour with Dabo Swinney.” Fans will able to submit questions to him via text/email.”

Many college football fans are saying this is because of a call from “Tyler from Spartanburg” last year.
The caller ripped Swinney for doing a mediocre job while making $11.5 million in salary. Swinney proceeded to rip him back, calling him a “smart-ass kid.”
Ultimately, Tyler regretted what happened.
“Tact is not one of my strong suits, especially when I’m upset. But as I listened to Dabo last night and sat through his spiel about how we’d be 8-0 without the turnovers and ‘if, if, if,’ it upset me,” Tyler said.
“I want to be clear: I’m not blaming Dabo at all for the way I handled it. I’m just explaining what happened. If I had to do it over again, I’d have been way more respectful.”
Clemson is set to open the 2024 season on Saturday against No. 1 Georgia.
Kickoff is set for 3:30 p.m. E.T.
