Texas A&M fired Jimbo Fisher on Sunday, and the Aggies are no doubt looking to make a splashy hire to replace him.
Despite his team’s uncharacteristically down season, Clemson’s Dabo Swinney would fit that bill. Swinney was asked about any potential interest in the A&M job during his Tuesday medis session.
“I’m just focused on this job … Always have been. Just trying to beat North Carolina. It must be November — that’s all I can say,” Swinney said, via Chapel Fowler at The State.

Now, because Dabo didn’t flat out say no, speculation about him going to College Station will continue. But, as we’ve seen with countless coaches, sometimes it’s better off being as vague as possible because you never know what may happen down the line.
One person who was not unclear in his feelings on the A&M opening was Oregon’s Dan Lanning, who came out Monday night and said he is committed to staying with the Ducks.
“I’ll continue to say it until I’m blue in the face. I want to be here at Oregon. That hasn’t changed, that won’t change,” Lanning told reporters.
Now 6-4 on the season, Clemson will take on North Carolina on Saturday.
