Former U.S. President Donald Trump is set to attend Saturday’s Palmetto Bowl rivalry game between Clemson and South Carolina. So what does Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney think about the President’s upcoming visit?
Not much, as it turns out. Speaking to the media, Swinney made it clear that he’s less concerned with who’s coming to watch the game and more about who’s going to play it. He then joked that Trump’s presence would only really matter to him if South Carolina coach Shane Beamer put him in for a play.
“I don’t care who comes to the game. I just care about who’s playing in the game,” Swinney said. “Unless Shane is going to put him in and throw him a halfback pass or something.”
Fans absolutely adored that last line. Some joked that they would pay good money to see Donald Trump play a game of college football.

Last year South Carolina won their rivalry game for the first time in a decade and will need to win it again this year in order to finish 6-6 and become bowl eligible.
Clemson, meanwhile, are hoping to finish the season 8-4 and finish the season strong after going through one of their worst seasons in recent memory.
Will Trump’s presence at Williams-Brice Stadium be a bigger boon for the Tigers or the Gamecocks?
