Clemson’s first game of the 2024 season didn’t go very well.
Clemson got boat-raced by Georgia and is 0-1 going into its next game against Appalachian State. It was only a 6-0 game heading into halftime but Georgia opened it up in the second half and cruised to a 34-3 win.
The Tigers’ offense couldn’t get going in the game and were held to three points in a 34-3 loss. Quarterback Cade Klubnik only threw for 142 yards, no touchdowns, and an interception.
After the game, Colin Cowherd suggested for Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney to start using the transfer portal since he hardly uses it.
“Clemson may want to start leaning into the transfer portal,” Cowherd tweeted.
Swinney mainly recruits high school talent and doesn’t use the portal as much as other Power Five schools.
It’s worked wonders numerous times since Swinney has the national championships to show for it but the times are changing in college football. He could have to take Cowherd’s advice if Clemson wants to get back to the top of the mountain.
Kickoff for next Saturday’s Clemson-Appalachian State game will be at 8 p.m. ET.
