It’s been a rough start to the season for Clemson but things are getting very dicey, very quickly for quarterback Cade Klubnik against their FCS opponent today.
Late in the first quarter of today’s game against Charleston Southern, the game was tied 7-7 on 3rd-and-12. Klubnik got pressured then threw the ball into the flats.
But there was no receiver there. Instead, he found Buccaneers defender Leon Thomas, who ran the ball back 67 yards for a touchdown and a 14-7 lead over the Tigers.
Klubnik was able to lead the Tigers to a touchdown on the ensuing drive, but fans are already calling for changes to the team after the way they’ve started this season.

“Clemson needs a new Oline coach. Almost every offensive lineman got beat on this play,” one fan pointed out.
“I’m so confused how a new QB hasn’t come in and beat out Cade. He’s not good,” wrote another.
“There’s not a head coach or offensive coordinator in the world that you could blame this type of play on. DJ couldn’t progress through reads and Cade gunslings with zero thought behind every throw. This offense is nothing without a good QB,” a third wrote.
Clemson should have no trouble beating Charleston Southern by the end of the game, but each bad play shrinks the aura the Tigers have had for nearly a decade.
