Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney made the decision to change starting kickers this week, giving the duties to graduate Jonathan Weitz – who had never played for the team before.
After making three extra points in today’s game against the Florida State Seminoles, Weitz lined up for his first field goal. His family was in attendance at Memorial Stadium with his father Jon looking anxious as he lined up for the kick.
But when Weitz’s field goal attempt split the uprights, the Weitz family jumped for joy. The two embraced for a hug as their friends around them congratulated them for what their son had just done.
Fans on X were delighted by the scene and have praised the moment for being so special:

Truly a special moment for Jonathan Weitz.
